“ The Charcoal Room is a good quality Steakhouse with two locations in Las Vegas. The Palace Station one near the strip and this one at Santa Fe Station. The Santa Fe Station location has lots of wine bottles on display and a bar with a big screen TV in the middle of the dining room. They offer booths and traditional table seating too. It was very refreshing to have top notch service by Justin and his helper. Also management and the chef introduced themselves to us. They started us off with a basket of warm assorted breads and butter. We started out by splitting a Gem Salad that was freshly made. For our mains we went with the Chilean Sea Bass Special that Justin described with such enthusiasm and a ribeye with a side of macaroni and cheese. EVERYTHING was textbook perfect. I usually don't even like ribeye but the bite I tried was delicious and tender and easy to eat. My husband it was the best ribeye he had in a long time. The Chilean Sea Bass was so darn perfect I forgot to ask if they used a sous vide. The portions were also generous in size. I was too full for dessert. I plan to come back and try either the salmon or the ground-in-house (steak ends) burger. I sure hope that they are just as good because the two closer Steak Houses (on the north side) can't cook salmon and serve disappointing burgers. The service and food were absolute perfection so I must give 5 stars. It was a joy to dine here. ”
“ Nice atmosphere comfortable seating. Very good service. Drinks and wine very good reasonably priced. Steaks are excellent. Salads are good not great. The Cesar salad dressing slightly bland. Bread is excellent. Fried chicken very decent. Lamb chops I didn't love however 3 others I was with liked them. Hamburger actually very good. This restaurant surprised me. It was much better than expected. Not a 5 but definitely 4 stars. ”
“ What an extraordinary dining experience! We have just started a Steak of the Month Club with a few friends and The Charcoal Room was our first choice. Diane was our server and provided a fantastic 5 star experience. She was great at explaining the specials and answering our questions! Hint: ask about their pickled heirloom tomatoes - wow! The ambiance was what we would expect of an upscale dining experience! I highly recommend The Charcoal Room! ”
“ what i ordered: - main: porterhouse cut - sauces on the side: béarnaise, garlic cilantro, peppercorn, and demi-glace - sides: sautéed broccoli, mushrooms, charred corn, mashed potatoes - appetizer: calamari what i rate it: 8/10 we had an 8 PM reservation but had to wait about 40 minutes due to how busy it was, getting seated at 8:45 PM. despite the wait, the experience was worth it! the restaurant was clean, and both the host and server were incredibly attentive and kind. the food was absolutely amazing - cooked to perfection with exquisite flavors. once seated, the food arrived promptly. overall, a great dining experience, and we'd definitely return! ”
“ To be frank, the charcoal room is my favorite local steakhouse, good food and reasonable prices, close to home. Quite truly, I'm not a Kobe or Wagyu beef fanatic, did that in Japan many times. Now just give me a good ribeye or porterhouse and a baked potato and I'm happy. Anyway, made Christmas Day reservations early in the month, paid the $135.00 to hold it. We got there about 20 minutes before time and literally fought my way through a crowd to the hostess stand. Was told there was probably at least a 30 minute wait after the time of the reservation as they were behind. Peeking inside it was not surprising, it appeared that every table and booth I could see was packed and there appeared to be big groups at long tables along the wall. Several people I spoke with outside while waiting eventually left and went to Leticia's or the oyster bar and even the brass fork for their Christmas dinner. The restaurant was open I think at 1:30 and that probably had something to do with it. Anyway, we stuck it out and about 40 minutes after our reservation time we were seated . A booth, so at least we weren't crowded. Craig was our server, who was friendly and professional, but looked like he wished he was off his shift. He said it was crazy busy all day. He took our drink orders (mine wasn't quite right but it was ok) and when he returned to take our dinner orders, he was halfway through when another server told him they were out of ribeye, porterhouse, and I think a filet. That pretty much crashed our expectations as we all wanted porterhouses. Luckily they still had NY steaks so we ordered them. One member of our party had salmon (broiled). (She said it was overdone though) There were a few serving hiccups , my soup was served without a spoon and steak knives had to be brought after the meat arrived. We were all eating our steaks and the diner who ordered the salmon was left high and dry for about ten minutes until hers came (without her yam) Craig was able to snag the last one (so he said) . So the food was good, the service was as good as it could have been under the circumstances I guess. I think they were a victim of their own success so to speak in that a very popular local steakhouse got totally slammed on a day when they were open 4 extra hours. Obviously I'm not a person that orders and stocks food for a restaurant, but I guess I would have over ordered the most popular cuts of beef , knowing that if not all was sold, it would still be ok, but then I am sure there are space and cost issues as well. So all in all a very good but disappointing meal. Will I be back? Of course, but if we come on Christmas again, maybe a late lunch rather than what we thought of as an early dinner. The staff need to be commended for doing well under the crazy conditions! ”
“ Five star experience when you consider the dedication the staff have to making sure your food is exactly as you like it to be. My family and I came to The Charcoal Room for a celebration. My partner ordered a medium rare steak. When he had cut into it he noticed it was a little blue. Before even looking up from his steak, one of the waiters noticed immediately and swooped in to save the meal. The steak was recooked and once it was back on the table, three different employees crowded around to watch the first cut and make sure it was to our liking. It was, and the steak was well seasoned. Amazing service from people who go above and beyond to make sure your food is exactly as expected! They have returning customers from us. ”
“ We went for happy hour on a Sunday night. We sat at the bar and had drinks and cheese fries. 10/10. I loved happy hour here! We also had the mushrooms and complimentary bread. The bar service was good and we left there paying hardly anything. The restaurant and bar are sultry and nice. Very clean and easy to access. I would absolutely recommend a happy hour here. The steak fries were to die for. ”
“ For a steakhouse this place was mid for me. I loved the service, our waiter was so comical and made our valentines day super special however the food was just mid. We started off with some oysters and they were rather small. For the price of 6 half shell I was expecting more. Typically smaller oysters are sweeter and more of a low quality oyster in my opinion. Our waiter chose a 9 ounce pour of a certain cabernet, I'm not sure which brand it was but it was very delightful. I felt like it paired oh so well with my filet mignon however, my filet mignon was a bit dry. I requested medium rare and felt like it was cooked more on the medium well side. I love steaks that melt in your mouth, this did not do that for me. ”
